Our Home for 42 Years
The house we had built on Urban Court in Arvada in 1964 was the first one built on that street. It was also the farthest west of any buildings.
Lloyd and Lew marked out a course for the Go-Kart #12 in the grassy patch just west of the house.
At that time, residents had a fire pit in the backyard to burn their trash. The house had a hallway and back door designed to lead directly to this area.
A feature of the house I especially enjoyed was the fireplace with a raised hearth. While living in the wood-burning stoves of my youth, I had read of fireplaces and I longed to have one.
It was our beloved home for 42 years! When I was put on oxygen, I needed a one-floor place to live. So, reluctantly we sold it.
I have talked to subsequent owners and, without exception, they too have enjoyed it.

I’m not sure I realized you built that house. It served you well for all those years!!!
